Anna Nemyrovych (Realización de un largometraje / Ucrania) Con un extensa carrera en su país de origen con programas como “X-Factor” y “Ukraine’s Got Talent” y licenciada en cine en Kiev National University-Theater, cinema and Television, Anna hizo el curso de Realización de un largometraje, donde fue guionista / editora y Codirectora de la película “Dancing Dogs” estrenada en el Festival de Sitges del 2012. Actualmente reside en Barcelona y se ha especializado en Edición, gracias al vinculo que existe con nuestros alumni nos ha ofrecido una Masterclass de Edición.

Anna Nemyrovych (Digital Feature Film program/ Ukraine) With an impressive career in her native country including “X Factor” and “Ukraine’s Got Talent”, Anna is a graduate in Film from Kiev National University-Theater, Cinema and Television. She’s alumni of the Digital Feature Film program, where she co-wrote and co-directed “Dancing Dogs”, which premiered at the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival 2012. She currently lives in Barcelona, specializing in Editing and, thanks to her ties to afilm, Anna has just offered our students an Editing Master Class.

Sarah Shaw fue una de las actrices principales de nuestra película “Dancing Dogs”, era su primer largometraje, pero nadie lo diría viendo su gran trabajo. Desde la finalización del rodaje, ha estado trabajando en su compañía de teatro “Quint-Essential”, y tuvieron la oportunidad de estrenar su ultima producción “The Lost Souls” en el Etcetera Theatre en Camden Londres dentro del Terror London Festival 2012. El espectáculo fue un gran éxito y seguro que repetirán de nuevo en Londres. Para el 2013 tiene muchos proyectos tanto de cine, como de teatro y estamos seguros que le ira muy bien!!

Sarah Shaw played one of the leading roles in our feature film ”Dancing Dogs”, it was her first feature film, but who would guess, seeing what a terrific job she does. Since finishing the film, she has been hard at work with her theater company ”Quint-Essential”, having had the opportunity to premier their production of “The Lost Souls” at the Etcetera Theatre in Camden London, at the Terror London Festival 2012. The show was a major hit, and no doubt they will present the show again in London. For 2013, she’s looking forward to many new projects, both cinema and theater, and we’re certain she’ll do very well indeed!!

Hoy es un día muy especial, ya que podemos mostrar el ultimo trabajo de Giovanni Smets, un alumno increíble para nosotros, empezó con el curso de “Introducción al Proceso Cinematográfico”, después realizo el curso “Ven y rueda un largo” y como podréis ver en el video, es alguien con mucho talento. Estamos deseando, (aunque lo sabemos seguro), que dará mucho que hablar.

Today is a very special day, as we are able to share with you Giovanni Smets’ latest work, he’s been an incredible student, he began with the “Introduction to Filmmaking” program, then he completed the “Digital Feature Film” program, and as you will appreciate in the video, he’s someone with so much talent. We’re hoping (though we actually know this for a fact) that he’ll give the audiovisual community much to talk about!!

Hace un tiempo os hablamos de Shadi Chaaban un alumno que realizo el Workshop de cámara, pero esta semana nos ha pasado su nuevo showreel y no podemos parar de mirarlo, esperamos que os guste tanto como a nosotros.

Sergi Rigol, fue alumno de uno de los primeros cursos de Steadicam que hicimos en afilm, por eso nos encanta que después de tanto tiempo, nos vuelva a visitar y se pase con nosotros una jornada en un nuevo curso de Steadicam. Pero lo que más nos alegra es saber lo bien que le van a nuestros alumnis, ahora se encuentra trabajando como cámara/realizador de un programa de TV3, que se llama GR: Pirineus que trata de una ruta por el pirineo y pre-pirineo catalán desde Girona hasta el Vall d’Aran, descubriendo la Cataluña más interior, a pie, en bicicleta, en globo…. Si tenéis oportunidad de verlo lo recomendamos!!

Sergi Rigol was a student of one of the first Steadicam Workshops we held at afilm, which is why we´re so pleased that after all this time, he´s back visiting during another Steadicam workshop. But we´re even more pleased to know how well our alumni are doing, Sergi is now working as a Camera Operator/ Technical Director for a TV3 program, entitled GR: Pirineus about routes through the Pyrenees and the Catalan pre-Pyrenees, from Girona to Vall d’Aran, discovering the inner-most Cataluña on foot, on bike, via balloon… If you have the opportunity to catch it, we certainly recommend it!!

Liam O’Prey (Iniciación al Proceso Cinematográfico / Irlanda), después de su paso por afilm, ha estado realizando videos corporativos para empresas, con clientes como el Grupo Hotel Majestic. Ahora ha creado un pequeño estudio en el Barrio de Gracia y sigue trabajando en publicidad, realizando videos musicales y muchos otros proyectos. Os dejamos con el cortometraje que realizo estando en afilm y el cual nos encanto, Baggage.

Liam O’Prey (Introduction to Filmmaking program / Ireland), after his time at afilm, has begun creating corporate videos for clients such as the Hotel Majestic Group. Now he’s created a small studio in the Gracia neighborhood in Barcelona, and he continues working in advertising, creating music videos and many other projects. We leave you with a short film he shot at afilm, which we loved, entitled “Baggage”.

Cathal O’Cuaig (Camera Workshop / Irlanda) Desde su paso por afilm, se ha centrado en el departamento de dirección, rodando como ayudante de dirección en cortometrajes, (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2076790/), un largo documental (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2063874/) y videos musicales (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXwYJyrKK5A). Ahora en Diciembre rodara su primer corto como director, un proyecto “trilingüe” Gaélico, Ingles y en Español!! Y en verano dirigirá un documental en Ruanda!! Desde aquí le deseamos mucha suerte en todos los proyectos!!

Now, in December, he’ll shoot his first short film as a Director, in a trilingual project, in Welsh, English and Spanish!! And this summer, he’ll direct a documentary on Ruanda!! Shadi Chaaban, realizo con nosotros el Workshop de camara y no para de trabajar, la mayoria de ocasiones como Director de Fotografía en cortometrajes y ha realizado como ayudante en un par de largometrajes Indie norteamericanos. La bobina esta realmente muy bien.

Shadi Chaaban, one of our students from our Camera Workshop, has not stopped working, in most occasions as the Director of Photography in short films and as an AC on a couple of American indie features. His showreel really looks terrific.

Estamos muy contentos con las noticias que hemos recibido de Jack Van Der Loo, realizo el curso de Steadicam en afilm y ahora se embarca en su primer trabajo como operador de Steadicam, desde aquí le deseamos mucha suerte!!

Iván Castiñeiras (Steadicam/Galicia), realizo el Workshops de Steadicam y acaba de finalizar como director de fotografía un documental en Marruecos. El documental será proyectado en el Festival Internacional de Gijón.

Iván Castiñeiras (Steadicam/Galicia), participated in our Steadicam Workshop, and has now just finished a documentary shot in Morocco, as the Director of Photography. The documentary will be screened at the Gijon International Film Festival.

Haremos este recorrido juntos, viendo la evolución de los nuevos retos y desafíos, y sobretodo con el orgullo hacia nuestros exalumnos, que ahora ya son colegas de profesión.
